This week the team discussed mainly how to carefully optimize the use of the funds made available to us for this project. The project is mainly funded by the Ashesi University College. Yet a major challenge we have encountered so far is an over-budget regarding the limited funds allocated to us. Thus we took a decision as a team to re-budget and eliminate some items we could improvise  to reduce the cost of construction. Another alternative was to solicit for funds from the community to finance the project.

On the other hand, the team’s procurement officer, Martin Walter Ampah met with our project advisor, Dr. Danyuo Yiporo, who advised that the procurement of a furnace for the project would not be possible given the time and financial resources available. However, he further  suggested that suitable chemicals should be bought to melt the various grades of plastics required for the road mixture and construction. Also, he advised that more research should be done by the team to identify these chemicals that could help us successfully accomplish and complete the project.

Another meeting has been scheduled this week with Dr. Nathan Amankwah, a main stakeholder of the project to discuss and review our budget .
